WORK VISA — H-1B1
Chile & Singapore Free Trade Agreement
A specialty occupation visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals created under bilateral U.S. free trade agreements — with its own dedicated annual allocation and no lottery.
OVERVIEW
What Is the H-1B1?
The H-1B1 is a variant of the H-1B visa created by the U.S.–Chile and U.S.–Singapore Free Trade Agreements. It applies the same specialty occupation standard as the H-1B but provides separate annual allocations: 1,400 visas for Chilean nationals and 5,400 for Singaporean nationals.
H-1B1 applications can be filed directly at a U.S. consulate abroad — no USCIS petition is required for consular processing, and there is no lottery. This makes the H-1B1 one of the most efficient work visa pathways available to qualifying nationals.
