WORK VISA — E-3
Australian Specialty Workers
A dedicated work visa for Australian nationals in specialty occupations, offering a flexible and renewable two-year authorization with one of the lowest utilization rates of any U.S. work visa.
OVERVIEW
What Is the E-3?
The E-3 visa was created exclusively for Australian nationals and closely mirrors the H-1B specialty occupation standard. The position must require a bachelor’s degree or higher in a specific field, and the beneficiary must hold that credential.
The E-3 has an annual cap of 10,500 visas — a number that has never been exhausted. Unlike the H-1B, E-3 applicants can apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia, bypassing the lottery entirely and often receiving a decision within days.
